After sixty five years and still operating at the same location, Big O Tires rolls on!!!

In 1957, Bill Senft moved his OK Tire Franchise at Cambie and Broadway to 3050 West Broadway. The store was purpose built, originally to offer tires, tire repair and wheel alignments as well as steering repairs. Bill soon realized that due to property size limitations, he could only offer tires (new & used) and tire repairs, known as vulcanization in those days. Very little has changed, it’s still a two bay drive through.

Bill stops by for a coffee now and again…going strong at 95 years of age.

In 1962, Bill, not happy with OK Tire franchise costs and tire brand restrictions became a Big O Tires Associated Dealer. He and eleven other BC tire dealers started Big O Tires in Canada.

In 1967 Bill sold the store to Ray Miller. Ray and his son Jeff operated the store for 50 years, selling the property on September 1^st 2017.

On October 1^st 2017, Rick Livingstone, after forty years in the automotive industry, bought the store and continued operating it, still as Big O Tires. In 2019 his son Patrick joined him and now operates the store.

The team on Broadway consisting of Assistant Manager Brock Lennox, lead technician, the multi talented Michael Alleyne, inventory manager Mike Parsons, Technicians Kees Howuen and Max Kovach have all been living and working in our community for a very long time. This is home for the Broadway Big O team and that means every customer is our neighbour!
